The colors of this fountain pen refer to the original poster of "Steamboat Willy" (1920), the character that later on became known as Mickey Mouse. The entire pen consists of subtle hints that refer to Mickey Mouse as well as Walt Disney. In the cap of the pen you will find the signature of Walt Disney, and multiple silhouettes of Mickey Mouse's head are placed on the black-colored body of the pen. Even the nib of this fountain pen has a subtle engraving of Mickey Mouse's head. To top it off, there are coordinates engraved in the pen. These coordinates are a tribute to the place where a lot of Disney's imperium all started: the garage of his uncle.

The Montblanc Great Characters Walt Disney Limited Edition 1901 is limited to 1901 pieces whcich refers to the year of Walt Disney's birth. The groundbreaking multiplane camera invented by Disney is decipted on the cap in lacquer inlays with platinum-coated parts. On  the barrel you wil see an Mickey Mouse design with a flickering scanimation effect when rotated. Mickey Mouse appeared in Walt Disney's first film "Steamboat Willie" in 1928. This film, which is also famous for its use of synchronised sound, inspired the smokestack shape of the platinum-coated clip. The fountain pen has a rhoidum-coated nib, made of Au 750 solid gold. The nib is decorated with an engraving if the inconic Mickey Mouse.

In 2021, Montblanc pays tribute to the visionary Enzo Ferrari: both motor racing driver and entrepreneur, he founded the legendary Scuderia Ferrari and established a global automotive empire whose name has become synonymous for superb quality a passion for speed.



Made from red precious resin, the edition symbolizes the beginning of Enzo Ferrari´s passion for motor racing. Its color is inspired by the special Color "Rosso 70 Anni" which is a special red color developed when the Scuderia Ferrari celebrated its 70th birthday representing various iconic red tones throughout the years.



The cap top is crowned with a Montblanc emblem embedded in a metal grid on a yellow surface, paying homage to birth town Modena. The back of the cap shows the prancing horse, the famous emblem of Ferrari cars. The clip in metal is adorned with a famous quote by Enzo: “You cannot describe passion, you can only live it.” The cone shows two important dates in the early career of Enzo Ferrari.



The handcrafted Au 585/1000 solid gold nib is engraved with the image of a “Ferrari 250 GTO” steering wheel and one of Enzo´s nicknames - "Pilota".

With its Great Characters Edition, Montblanc celebrates the life and achievements of eminent figures who have shaped the cultural history of humankind. This writing instrument is devoted to Jimi Hendrix, an American rock artist who is widely regarded as one of the most influential electric guitarists in the history of popular music, and one of the most celebrated musicians of the 20th century. 

The design details on this pen tell the story of an exceptional artist who left an indelible mark on the world of music. The precious resin on the cap is an ode to his cream-coloured Fender Stratocaster guitar, and the geometric pattern recalls the pattern of Hendrix’s embroidered guitar strap. Additionally, the tremolo bar that was so important to his personal sound informed the shape of the platinum-coated clip, covered in cream-coloured precious resin at the tip. The artist’s debut album title Are You Experienced decorates the clip top, as a finishing touch.

The date ‘18-06-1967’ on the platinum-coated barrel ring is reminiscent of Hendrix’s spectacular performance at the Monterey Pop Festival, during the “Summer of Love”, while the ring’s surface texture is a reference to the connecting end of a Fender guitar cable. 

The black precious resin barrel is reminiscent of the wah-wah pedal, an electronic device used to manipulate the sound of an electric guitar, and the cone is imprinted with the word ‘WAH’. The red precious resin inlay parallels in colour the pilot light of a Marshall Super Lead amplifier. The cap top is crowned with the Montblanc emblem and an embossing of the finger positions for the opening chords of ‘Purple Haze’, a powerful interval nicknamed the devil’s triton, as well as a violet ring. The handcrafted, rhodium-coated Au 585 solid gold nib is decorated with a portrait of the guitarist.
