This fountain pen is inspired by Van Gogh's Orchard in Blossom (1888). Around the southern French city of Arles, there were many fruit orchards. Soon after Van Gogh arrived there in 1888, the spring came. He enthusiastically painted a variety of flowering fruit trees: apricot, almond, apple, peach and in this case plum.

Visconti transformed this painting into this beautiful fountain pen that incorporates the colour combination used by the famous Dutch painter.

The pen is made from natural resin and features the iconic magnetic cap. The Van Gogh Orchard in Blossom gift box also includes a bottle of purple ink. 

In October 2020, Visconti launches a new edition for their 'Van Gogh' collection. This year's edition is dedicated to the painting 'Old Vineyard with Peasant Woman', which Vincent van Gogh made in the year 1890.



Back then, Vincent van Gogh lived in France. He used to visit the countryside a lot, where he worked on various drawings and paintings. He used a pencil to draw the first lines of the vineyard. After that, he added watercolour and oil paint in different shades of blue, to fill it in. He painted the roofs red, which have turned brown over time. Large areas of the paper remained blank.



The colors mentioned above are combined in the pattern of these pens. Every single Visconti van Gogh pen is unique, just like Van Gogh's artworks.



The Visconti van Gogh 'Old Vineyard with Peasant Woman' collection is available as a fountain pen, rollerball and ballpoint pen. Each pen comes in a special packaging, together with an image of the original artwork.

During the first years of this century, the Van Gogh collection made an important contribution to Visconti's brand awareness. At the end of 2009 



The pen has been redesigned. The colors used are an ode to the work of the impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh. For this collection, Visconti was inspired by specific paintings and not by the painter's complete oeuvre. Each color is a unique work of art and represents a painting by Van Gogh.



This pen is inspired by Van Gogh's "Café Terrace at Night", created in the year 1888. In the painting people are painted on the terrace, lit by a large lantern. Van Gogh's typical blue sky with stars also contribute to the atmosphere.



These elements are incorporated in the colors of the pen, in a composition of lacquer. The name of the painting and the artist are engraved on the ring of the pen. The fountain pen has a steel nib and can be used with either a converter or a cartridge.

In fact, the artist painted it during his Japonisme period, a term that indicates the attraction and interest of French painters of the time towards the art of the Rising Sun. The pen, in its nuances, reproduces some of the colours used by Van Gogh: on the barrel the tones are warm, while on the cap they are cooler. The metal coating in yellow gold is a perfect match.
